Description

He Miway Learnership Programme is an entry-level transformation initiative aimed at building a sustainable pipeline of talented people who will support business in meeting its objectives by addressing the present lack of skills within the financial services sector. At the end of the 12-month internship, candidates will have obtained their RE5 regulatory qualification, a key requirement for working in the insurance industry and supporting their professional development. The RE5 regulatory qualification will allow learners to apply for professional membership of the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA) in the designation category of IISA Member (MIISA). The learnerhship integrates practical knowledge transfer, and includes both structured work experience and structured learning with an accredited training provider.

Responsibilities

• Participating in structured classroom learning for one day per week to understand the fundamentals of insurance and financial services
• Gaining practical experience through structured work placements in areas such as new business processing, existing business processing, and client liaison
• Learning and applying customer service skills to effectively communicate and liaise with clients and partners
• Assisting with appointment setting and preparation for client meetings and consultations
• Building and maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders to support business growth

Qualifications

• Possession of a Matric / Grade 12 / Standard 10 / NQF 4 Certificate with: Minimum pass mark of 50% for English and a Second Language Minimum pass mark of 40% for Mathematics or minimum pass mark of 60% for Mathematics Literacy
